The Race Against Time is a meditation on humanity’s pursuit of mastery over time, presented alongside one of the most historically significant race cars ever built: the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR known by its competition number 722.

The number refers to 7:22 a.m., the exact start time of the car during the 1955 Mille Miglia, where it achieved one of the most celebrated victories in motorsport history. Driven by Stirling Moss, the 722 became a symbol of endurance, precision, and mechanical dominance over time itself.

In recent years, a 300 SLR variant became the most expensive car ever sold publicly, reaching approximately $142 million in a private sale, positioning the model among the most valuable automobiles in the world. The 722 is not merely transportation. It is mechanical mythology. A sculpture of velocity. A monument to temporal conquest.
